Runway Love : Elie Saab Fall 2010 Couture

Bless you Elie Saab for presenting such a wonderful couture collection and letting women sit back and fall into daydreams. As each and every one of us dream of ourselves in one of your masterpieces, wining and dining at the Opera, or walking down the red carpet, this fall collection brings out the rich socialite daydreams, confidence and couture in each sequined, beaded and draped gown. On a side note, I'm not used to seeing gowns that are conservative where the shoulders and full length sleeves are present without looking frumpy, but conservative has become sexy this fall 2010...here are some of my favorites, enjoy!

Portrait of a Lady

Something caught my eye about the Sept. issue of Real Simple. I still cant figure out exactly what it was that made me set aside the magazines I usually read which is Vogue, Glamour, InStyle, Harpers Bazaar, etc. (during my weekly Barnes & Nobles routine), but I am so glad I did!! Ive never cared for this particular magazine for some reason but thanks to this wonderful fashion spread, I now have another title to subscribe to. I fell in love with every piece put together in every photo! The gorgeous fall, oh so ladylike outfits are the perfect balance of classy and sexy. I also love that its not the strictly cookie-cutter becoming of a lady appearance either... remember, if you show one body part - cover the rest.

Mel-O-Toons : The Enchanted Horse

I just love re-discovering old cartoons that I used to watch as a child. These days, I cant help but feel sorry for the kids who are growing up on useless shows like hannah montana or any of the countless, pointless cartoons on TV. Ive become so picky about cartoons when I get time to sit and watch them especially with my nieces and nephews. The old Mickey Mouse, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry and Mel-O-Toons are among the classics that I still love and believe kids should grow up watching them too! This cartoon below is based on a Persian folk tale and is just beautiful. I was a bit too excited when I watched this after so many years. Ive attached a link as well, to this amazing site where you can read the folk tale as well. Enjoy!

Oxfords

Forget the boyfriend fit blazer and jeans! Move aside men, the Oxfords are just another item from your wardrobes that women can get away with looking better in, then you. Only this time, designers have perfected it to our tootsies = ). I cant post dozens of pictures of all the oxfords I want, so I chose 4 pairs that I know I would personally wear, and paired them with a few different outfits as inspiration for you. Fall is coming up and updating your flats or heels with a pair of classic, sleek oxfords will be well worth it.

Tommy Hilfiger

An American legend has finally made his way back onto the fashion scene! I have to confess though, I thought he had given up for good = (....anyway, as a pre-teen (and gong through a serious tomboy phase), I used to be obsessed with this brand! I used to own a couple of sports wear items and baggy T-shirts with his logo on it. Now years later, its so refreshing to see a comeback from Mr. Hilfiger and hope he sticks around. Love his "Ultimate Tailgaters" campaign that I saw in the new issue of Glamour, and put up a few of my favorites from his ready to wear Fall/Winter 2010 "Preppy with a Pop" runway collection.

Both outfits are fantastic but the belted black long vest-looking dress won me over!

Perfect balance here, toned down grey pants with a bright "happy" orange button down!

Don't you love how the skinny orange belt brought out the rest of the prints and texture?
