Holiday Art

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and is enjoying the blizzard like I am! So sorry for my absence, my laptop has been under costruction and I'll hopefully get it back soon! It's below freezing and apparently NY will be hit with about 16 inches of snow, especially on Long Island! I'll be in pj's watching my favorite musicals and experimenting in the kitchen. Open faced baguette sandwiches anyone? I'll be in the kitchen making this and this from the last episode called the "the holiday show" on Martha Stewart. YUM! Happy Holidays!

ps- I had to share some wonderful holiday cards from Papyrus by none other then Bella Pilar. Here are a few of my holiday favorites.

LOVE the ice skates and whimsical design!

My favorite, nothing like a deep red gown with sparkles and ornaments

Love the Peppermint Martini here...  ; )

Holiday 2010

I hope that all of you are enjoying your holiday season with great company, great food and in the most chic winter coat on your back! What accessories do you prefer during the cold and snow? Ear muffs to a fur hat? Mittens to  finger-less gloves? Here's 10 things I love about the month of December.

1. Perfect excuse to update your winter wardrobe
2. The lit christmas tree at Rockefeller Center
3. Anything in NYC!
4. Wearing velvet without ending up on fashion police
5. New pair of boots
6. Holiday movies like A Christmas Carol, Elf and How the Grinch stole Christmas
7. Using the holiday season as an excuse to have cake, eggnog and more yummeries! = )
8. More glamorous outfits worn with lipstick
9. Christmas music, my favorite is Christmas Time is Here from A Charlie Brown Christmas
10. SNOW IN NEW YORK! Its magical everywhere.

Barbie

Thank you, RUTH HANDLER for introducing Barbie to us in March of 1959. We have worshiped her every outfit, hairstyle, cars (maybe even Ken) and eternal style as our Barbie Dolls. Sadly, I do not own any Barbie dolls anymore but am gladly toting a rather fabulous Patricia Field for Barbie clutch that my baby sister gifted to me on my birthday last year and proudly still use it! I would however like to start a collection, starting with the vintage to over the top designer dolls below...what I love most about each designer outfit with the hair and makeup on each doll...is that she is immortalized. I always did have a flair for the dramatic!

Tribute Barbie Doll $150
Holiday 2010 Barbie $39.95
Bob Mackie Golden Legacy Barbie Doll $120
Bob Mackie Circus Barbie Doll $175
Cleopatra Barbie Doll $100
J'ADORE!!

My darling clutch! Its a great conversation starter hehe
More Barbie to come!!

House of Harlow

Nicole Richie, I've forgotten all about your scandalous past, running around with Paris Hilton in that guilty pleasure of a reality show (that was actually popular)......to flashing cameras for fun. That is since you've grown up, had 2 gorgeous kids and came out with your own line of amazing jewelry/accessories. I absolutely love everything from House of Harlow and love that some of the pieces does not cost an arm or leg, but very well reasonably priced. Heres a glimpse of some of her designs for those of you who haven't seen the the gorgeous designs yet.

Elie Saab Spring 2011

Its official, Elie Saab is now one of my favorite designers. He IS fashion. The entire collection is wonderful but how can I post every single design? Sharing about 24 is enough, haha! To me, this was a more modern, sexier and much more wearable version of the 70's, Studio 54 fashion. I lust after every dress that is worn with a jacket! Something that will be incorporated into my wardrobe soon. Which of these design/color is your favorite?

GQ: Johnny Depp

Who said Brad Pitt is the only talented, sexy, actor out there with a devil-may-care attitude? Certainly not me! So, Id like to make sure that women haven't forgotten about our one and only Johnny Depp! From 21 Jump Street to Alice and Wonderland, and From Hell (my personal favorite with him in it), Johnny has set our hearts on fire! From his characters such as captain jack sparrow to the extreme mad hatter, Johnny is clearly not afraid to try a new role! As for his style in real-life, well....hes just perfection. Men, all you need are some eclectic pieces from chunky accessories,  like bracelets to glasses, hats, great facial hair, a pair of ripped jeans, frayed shirts and the sexiest Rebel with out a Cause attitude! I also have to mention that I loveee his tattoos! Ive compiled some of my favorite pictures of my dream man, swooooon. ; )

Doesnt he clean up so perfectly? LOVE

La Bella Donna

Ive been following bridal fashion for a long time, yet one particular spread has become a personal favorite. Theres no way I can continue blogging without posting this photo shoot from an old Brides magazine, the Feb/March 2009 issue. It's the the 16th century renaissance bridal shoot. What stood out to me the most was the beautiful, almost unreal face of this model with gorgeous red hair who looks like she stepped out of a renaissance painting! The dresses, reenactments of a couple renaissance paintings and the regal feel of it all is just dreamy and romantic.

look at the cherub! awww

Which one is your favorite renaissance inspired bridal "painting"?

Alberta Ferretti

Flowy chiffons, light floral prints with roped flat sandals and wide brim JLo hats is the epitome of Alberta Ferretti's Spring 2011 runway collection to which she stated "Fantasy is so important". That it is! Calling all girls for a garden tea party with fancy tea sandwiches, gorgeous porcelain tea sets and "Three Wishes" by The Pierces playing in the background! This is definitely one of my favorite collections by her, so refreshing to go light on the fabrics when she's been catering to the luxurious look for the rich and famous for years now. Enjoy!

Drew Barrymore

If you haven't picked up the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, you are missing out on how unbelievable one certain actress looks in an I-can-only-afford-them-in-my-dream  fashion spread. Drew is a great actress but for some reason, no one of my favorites, however I can watch her in Ever After over and over again. Don't get me wrong, but I figured her as a bit under-rated and I was never really awed by her when it came to anything media-related to her...and now? This photo shoot proved me wrong, and I'm a goner. She looks like a dream in...

....in Dior Haute Couture

..and Valentino Haute Couture

...BAM! My favorite of all the dresses without a doubt. She left me breathless in this Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci.

Which Dress do you like her in most?
