Tim Burton for Harper's Bazaar

This is part II of my Halloween post, as soon as I got lost into this fashion spread, I snapped myself right back to reality and just had to blog about it!! Sure we all love Tim Burton's brilliant mind that created cult classics like Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare before Christmas, Beetlejuice, etc. In fact, whenever we hear that he is releasing another new movie, doesn't it become an instant classic as well as reign the box office for weeks? Fashion however, is the least discussed topic related to his royal darkness (yet quirkiness) of the art world. Needless to say, his last movie Alice in Wonderland brought inspiration to the fashion world and Harpers Bazaar quickly took note of that and paired a fantasy filled photo shoot for their October issue. Bloody brilliant.

ps- Jeremy, this is for you.  <3

Love the larger than life skeleton!

The genius himself, in a clown costume. Of course.

Boo!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, sadly I wont be getting dressed up this year because I'm still working on my portfolio, can you say procrastination to the max? However, I've seen locals dressed up last night on Hallows Eve, including a gorgeous tall man dressed as captain jack sparrow head to toe at 7/11, I made a face so he "gyarrrred" at me! Haha! Time to eat candy, serve candy to the trick or treaters and watch a horror movie, Hope you all had a great weekend!

How fabulous are these chic pumpkins for your Halloween decor?

Alberta Ferretti

Flowy chiffons, light floral prints with roped flat sandals and wide brim JLo hats is the epitome of Alberta Ferretti's Spring 2011 runway collection to which she stated "Fantasy is so important". That it is! Calling all girls for a garden tea party with fancy tea sandwiches, gorgeous porcelain tea sets and "Three Wishes" by The Pierces playing in the background! This is definitely one of my favorite collections by her, so refreshing to go light on the fabrics when she's been catering to the luxurious look for the rich and famous for years now. Enjoy!

Dream Destination : India

Fashion Design portfolio prepping can be pretty damn intimidating. Its stressful times like this, when I debate packing up a suitcase in one hour then making last minute spontaneous plans before heading off to JFK, to board a plane and fly over to a country with an unknown sense of excitement. Its fall in NY now, and more beautiful then ever. So why am I daydreaming of hot weather, exotic and vibrant fabrics, Bollywood and oh yea, the Taj Mahal? I do know however, two places Id jump at the thought of exploring are Jaipur and Rajasthan among many wonder-worthy states as well. The photo below (sunset overlooking palace rooftop's)is what Ive been picturing for a long time and hope to experience in person one day soon.

Little Things

**A classmate from school emailed this to me, its so funny yet true I just had to share with you all!**

1. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

2. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

3. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

4. Bad decisions make good stories.

5. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

6. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

7. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

8. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

9. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

10. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

11. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

12. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

13. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

14. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

GQ

Dear men of New York, or whoever of the male species, is reading my post at this very moment in any other part of the world... I want you to know that not all of you have to fall into a group where you feel "compelled or forced" to wear the latest Jordans or Birkenstocks to keep up with your buddies. Nor should you HAVE TO HAVE an AX, Ed Hardy, Abercrombie or Rocawear shirt to feel fresh. Catch my drift? I'm not attacking any of these brands but clearly there are too many guys who don't understand the word moderation. Therefore, I will dedicate a post for the stylish man as inspiration, twice a month! Why not once a week, you ask? Clearly I don't follow mens fashion on a daily basis as I do for women. So twice a month, starting now, I promise to blog about an exceptionally tasteful, stylish, drool-worthy man in duds thats worth mentioning to you! BE ORIGINAL, yet take a few pointers from these eyecandy!

First up, you all know him, you all love him. Ed Westwick as the resident bad boy, Chuck Bass of the upper east side in Gossip Girl and even scored a photo shoot with supermodel Helena Christensen for the March issue of Harpers Bazaar, called The Gossip Graduate! Yumm

Daydreaming

NY weather has been so temperamental lately, no? Warm heavy rain one day, then sunshine but 12 degrees colder the next. As much as I love the fall, Ive been daydreaming of peach blossoms and tulle and not having to worry or care about anything...like I am right now with school! = ( I am just dozing off in a daydream of myself in a very flow-y dress and my neck draped with crystals AND flowers(?) while walking through a place thats covered in peach blossoms.... I'm always in my own world! ps- Have a great weekend everyone <3

Drew Barrymore

If you haven't picked up the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, you are missing out on how unbelievable one certain actress looks in an I-can-only-afford-them-in-my-dream  fashion spread. Drew is a great actress but for some reason, no one of my favorites, however I can watch her in Ever After over and over again. Don't get me wrong, but I figured her as a bit under-rated and I was never really awed by her when it came to anything media-related to her...and now? This photo shoot proved me wrong, and I'm a goner. She looks like a dream in...

....in Dior Haute Couture

..and Valentino Haute Couture

...and of course, Chanel Haute Couture
